What is InfinigrainTM?
Crafting a wood-look surface that truly rivals the look and feel of real wood is no small feat, but DuraVista™ LVP achieves that goal thanks to an ace up its sleeve: Infinigrain™. This innovative imaging and printing process uses multiple unique steps to create vinyl plank flooring that so closely mimics the appearance and texture of genuine wood that you’d be hard-pressed to tell it’s not actually the real thing.
Each Infinigrain™ plank starts with a high-definition digital scan of a piece of real hardwood flooring. This step captures every small detail of the wood—the fine lines in the grain, the intensity of every knot and burl, and all the subtle variations in color. Each image is then digitally printed in high resolution onto a vinyl plank. This high-tech capture and printing process results in a wood image with up to 5x the detail of a traditional LVP product. Expertly aligned to each unique plank image is a matching wood texture, helping further create the illusion of genuine hardwood. Run your fingers over a plank of DuraVista™ and you’ll feel how the grain pattern perfectly matches what you see.
But the crowning jewel of the Infinigrain™ lineup is the impressively high level of board variation—the number of unique wood images you’ll get in a single style of DuraVista™ flooring. While typical LVP often contains 6 to 10 different wood images per batch, every DuraVista™ LVP with Infinigrain™ includes 35 unique images per style. This means that in any room, a DuraVista™ floor will have significantly fewer repeated planks than normal wood vinyl flooring, helping create an organic hardwood look with just as much character as the real thing.
