Does Empire Today® have any showrooms or retail stores?

We do not have stores because we bring the store to you with our convenient Shop-at-Home service. This helps keeps our costs lower because we don’t have expensive overhead that comes with operating stores. 

How do I shop with Empire? Is there any charge or obligation for an estimate?

We offer a convenient, in-home shopping service at no additional cost to you. We bring hundreds of samples directly to your home or business so you can see how they will look with your lighting and décor. There is no charge or obligation for our FREE In-Home Estimate or Shop-at-Home service.

How quickly can you install?

We are able to professionally install in-stock products when you want – as soon Next Day. Because we have large warehouses with products ready to be installed, we can work around your schedule and help make updating your home easy and convenient.  

Does Empire® have brand name products?

Our product portfolio consists of Quality, Name-Brand Products from the leading manufacturers – the same ones you’ll find in retail stores. Some of the most recognizable brands we carry include Mohawk, Shaw, Armstrong, Dream Weaver, Daltile and StainMaster. 

How do I reschedule my appointment?

Please contact 800-588-2300® and a representative will be available to assist you. It is important that you do not set up another appointment online without canceling your previous one.

What information will Empire need to place my order?

Your order can be placed by your Sales Representative during your FREE In-Home Estimate. We will need your current, state-issued identification and the required deposit. Valid forms of payment include cashier's checks, money orders, certified checks or bank cards. Renters must have an “Authorization Letter” from the property owner allowing Empire® to perform work on the premises.

What types of payments does Empire accept?

We ask that payment be available prior to installation. Empire® accepts cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club International, money orders or certified checks. We do not accept personal checks.

Will my old flooring have to be removed?

Depending on the project, your existing flooring may have to be removed, or we may be able to accommodate a new installation over your old floor. Your Sales Representative will be able to provide more information on your options during your FREE In-Home Estimate.  

Do Empire® products carry a warranty?

Yes. All of our products carry both a manufacturer’s product warranty and our Installation Warranty. For information on warranties, please click here .

Does Empire® repair or service existing products?

Unfortunately, we do not service or perform repairs.

Can I purchase from Empire® if I rent my apartment or home?

Yes. You can buy Empire® products if you are a renter. We’ll require an “Authorization Letter” from the property owner allowing Empire® to perform work on the premises. Please contact 800-588-2300 and a Customer Service Representative will explain in more detail what you need to do.

I noticed my appointment is for a two-hour window. When can I expect the Sales Representative to arrive?

We will arrive any time within the two-hour window that you selected.

When will my installer arrive at my home?

Installations appointments occur between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Your installers will call you on the morning of your appointment to provide an estimated window for arrival. Unfortunately, a specific time of arrival cannot be provided.

How often should I professionally clean my Carpet?

In a typical house, Carpet should be professionally cleaned every six to 12 months, depending upon the traffic volume and type of activity. Click here for more information about Carpet cleaning.

Is bamboo flooring subject to moisture?

Bamboo is a natural product. It will react to moisture and humidity, just as hardwood flooring does. Ensure that you are following the proper care guidelines to maintain the product’s finish.

Can Empire® Today® install laminate flooring in every room of my home?

Yes. Our laminate flooring can be installed anywhere in your home. Some of our floors even include a topical water warranty making them safe to install in bathrooms and other areas where moisture may be a concern.

Can you install laminate flooring on my stairs?

Empire® does not install on stairways at this time. This is due to safety issues.

What do I have to do to maintain my vinyl flooring after installation?

After your vinyl flooring installation:
  • Traffic should be kept to a minimum during the first 48 hours.
  • Loose dirt should be swept from the floor.
  • Wash the floor with a non-abrasive floor cleaner. Do not use the following:
    • Soap-based detergents
    • Abrasive or mop shine products 
    • Ammonias 
    • Bleaches
    • Vacuums with rotating beater bars.
  • Ensure that furniture legs and/or appliances have large surface non-staining floor protectors.

Is an underlayment used for vinyl flooring?

Yes. When necessary, we will use plywood underlayments to install the vinyl flooring.
