Indoor/Outdoor Carpet Overview

Indoor/Outdoor Carpet from Empire Today® is all about performance and versatility. It’s durable enough to stand up to temperature changes, yet stylish enough to be used in interior spaces.

Carpet Considerations

Indoor/Outdoor Carpets are built to support interior and enclosed exterior use. They are made from synthetic fibers with inherent ultra-violet (UV) resistance. This makes Indoor/Outdoor Carpet suitable to install on patios, porches and other enclosed outdoor spaces. Indoor/Outdoor Carpet is available in loop and artificial turf styles.

Olefin/Polypropylene: Empire Today Indoor/Outdoor Carpets are manufactured with high fade-resistant olefin/polypropylene fibers. These fibers are solution dyed during the manufacturing process to inject bright colors into their fiber structure. This process enables the fibers to resist fading even in the direct sunlight of your sunroom or porch. Olefin/polypropylene fibers are even resistant to some types of chemical spills.

Indoor/Outdoor Carpet does not need padding, but padding can provide a more luxurious, cushioned feel. Whether you choose to install padding with your Indoor/Outdoor Carpet from Empire Today depends on the Carpet’s use. In a workroom, a layer of padding adds warmth and makes standing more comfortable. For an enclosed outdoor space, we do not recommend using padding.

Carpet Care & Maintenance Tips

Although your durable Indoor/Outdoor Carpet is well-suited to stand up to the elements, you can keep it looking newer with these easy-to-follow maintenance tips:

  • Carpet benefits from prompt stain removal, and Indoor/Outdoor Carpet is no exception. Cleaning spills thoroughly is the best way to keep Carpets fresh.
  • Professionally clean your Empire Today Indoor/Outdoor Carpet at least once per year.
  • Indoor/Outdoor Carpets are designed to be low-maintenance. Their short pile makes them highly resistant to crushing. However, any carpet can develop dents under certain conditions. Move heavy furniture occasionally and use coasters under large pieces to minimize divots.
