About the role

Empire Today’s Market Operations team is an integral part of our company's business strategy and include local personnel managing warehouses, product receipt and distribution, customer service, full life cycle of customer orders, and installation management. This enables installers to deliver upon our commitment to our customers and support the success of Empire Today.

The Inventory Operations Specialist will perform a variety of duties to improve inventory accuracy, receiving, pick/pack/ship job quality and customer satisfaction through minimizing quality error to significantly improve customer satisfaction and financial performance.

What You'll Do

  • Analyzes inventory metrics using the required reports and develops and executes action plans to immediately improve accuracy and employee quality
  • Ensures timely maintenance and management of all inventory management processes such as:
    o Monthly cycle counts and daily cycle count audits
    o Bin cleanup such as: Aged Inventory / In Transit / Adjustment Corrections
    o Receiving new product correctly: physically and systematically, and resolving any 3 way match issues
    o Job pick/pack/ship quality issues and immediate resolution
    o Quarterly and Annual Physical Inventory Counts
  • Develops and leverages strong relationships with distribution centers and installation warehouses to:
    o Improve the accuracy of receipts, storage and processing
    o Decrease the average time to resolve inventory accuracy issues such as:
     Reconciling inventory reports timely
     Partnering with Market Support and Materials Management on vendor shipping errors or product quality issues
    o Immediately resolve any pick/pack/ship mistakes to quickly eliminate quality errors
  • Provides daily coaching to employees and weekly training on:
    o Process adherence to improve inventory accuracy
    o Issue resolution and the proper steps to correct system and physical counts
  • Partners with local leaders and Market Support to identify inventory inaccuracy trends, corrective action plans and training/follow up with new and existing employees
  • Ensures all sub-contractors are loaded in a safe, accurate and timely manner and provides immediate corrective action to improve order/inventory accuracy
  • Follows and reinforces all safety policies and supports a strong safety culture
  • Other duties as requested or assigned

What You'll Need

  • High School Diploma/GED required, Associates or bachelor’s degree in Operations Management preferred
  • Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook,)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to multi-task; strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently; and ability to set priorities, solve problems and meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter, action oriented, problem resolution focused approach and personality
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends if necessary
  • Ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift and other equipment as necessary
