Fall is creeping around the corner and we have so much to look forward to with the new season. To help kick off new beginnings we’re thrilled to announce the September winners of the Empire’s Best Award. This month we had nominations from the Orlando market. These Empire Today team members possess characters that propelled our mission to make beautiful new floors easy. Thanks to their integrity, dedication, and hard work, they’ve helped build a community of trust and dedication.
To get a better understanding of what makes them so special, we talked to one of the winners for a better look at their accomplishments and motivations.
It hasn’t even been a year since William, or Bill, has joined the Empire team and he’s already shown his integrity and dedication to the Empire Way. Working hard is just part of the journey, a true team member also shows honesty. While faced with situations that could lead to the downfall of his team, William made sure to bring it to the table with full transparency. This has instilled faith in him as a manager and his team knows he’ll always do the right thing.
How long have you been working at Empire?
Just finished 6 Months
What made you want to work at Empire Today?
Been in flooring since I was 15 years old…35 years now. I’ve also been in sales most of my adult life, so about 20 years. I had my own flooring company back on Long Island, NY and when my Wife and I were planning on moving to Florida I figured this was a good fit.
What is your favorite part about working at Empire?
Every day is different and challenging and the people here are very supportive and care for the company and the customer.
What is the one thing you are most excited about for the coming year?
Honestly, I hope to grasp a better understanding of the inner workings of the company. My manager has been a tremendous mentor and very knowledgeable. By the start of 2021 I hope to be able to make a bigger impact.
What is your motto or personal mantra?
I don’t know if it’s a motto, but I believe there are three sides to every story. I like to get everyone’s story before I make a decision.
What three traits define you and how you work?
I make it a point to be on time for any appointment, in my personal life or in business, if I’m running late I let someone know.
If I tell someone I’m going to do something I do my best to do it. The simple things go along way especially when dealing with customers.
Working hard and long hours when needed to solve issues, good or bad. There’s nothing better than being able to pat yourself on the back for a good effort put in.
