Plantation Shutter Considerations

Interior Window Shutters create a sophisticated, classic look. They feature wide louvers, or slats, that open to control light and ventilation. These Shutters are available in a selection of colors, louver sizes, framing options and hinge finishes. Interior Shutters can be constructed from real wood, vinyl or a resin material. Interior Shutters are antimicrobial and moisture resistant. They are fade resistant and can help insulate your windows.

  • Painted Finish: Ranging from bright whites to neutral tans, painted Interior Shutters can coordinate with almost any décor color palette. Shutters made from faux wood have the advantage of color running through the entire louver, so they are less likely to show blemishes from abrasions.
  • Stained Finish: The wide range of stain colors, from light maple to deep espresso, can make it easy to coordinate with the wood tones of your Flooring or window moldings.
  • Louver Widths Choose from 2 ½", 3 ½” or extra wide 4 ½” PlantationStyle Shutters.
  • Hinged Mounts: Allow for a single Shutter to open and close like a door to access your window and let more air into the room.
  • Bifold: Operate like an accordion to open and close, functionally allowing for installation on multiple windows or sliding glass doors.
  • BiPass: Operate by sliding horizontally one in front of the other. They are a great choice for sliding patio doors.
  • Double Hung: Cover the entire window, but operate as separate top and bottom units, allowing you to open the top Shutter while leaving the bottom closed, or vice versa.
  • Café Shutters: Cover the lower portion of your window leaving the top of the window unobstructed.
  • Tilt Rods: Serve as architectural detail and allow for opening and closing of the louvers. They can also be hidden behind the Shutter for a more contemporary look.
  • Cordless Operation: Allows your Interior Shutters to operate without the use of any cords.
