It's important to know that no Carpet is stain proof, although many are stain resistant. Prompt attention to spots and spills is essential, but it does not have to be difficult. Here are four simple ways to help remove those spots and spills from Carpet.
Absorb the stain as much as possible with white towels. Blot the area with white paper or cloth towels dampened with cool water until there is no more transfer of the stain onto the towels.
Never rub or scrub abrasively. A fuzzy area may result and you could spread the spill. To avoid this, start at the spot's outer edge and work inward.
Draw out remaining moisture. Place several layers of white paper or cloth towels over the spot. Then, position a heavy object on top that will not transfer color, such as a plastic jug of water.
Remove any residue after you’ve finished cleaning. Otherwise, the residue may become sticky, causing further soiling.
Remember to always check with the manufacturer before using any household products as they may contain chemicals that could permanently damage your Carpet.
